Yamaha PSR-530 retrospective: Still showing power and potential!
The PSR-530 is an XG feast (XG being Yamaha's standard sound map originating from the mid 90's, for those too young to remember!)
This particular PSR-530 has a wrecked screen but it's still possible to go through plenty of the XG sounds and discover some really sweet layers and other great results with only minor editing.
Then It's over to 25-years-newer PSR-E463 to cram some complex midi data and filtering into the old 530. Can it cope?

Yamaha SEQTRAK sequencer and SO much more!
Переглядів 41219 годин тому
Well if you ever wanted to see a true all-rounder, the Seqtrak from Yamaha ticks every box: Sequencing, Sampling, FM and PCM synthesis, effects, dynamic control - and it can do it all independently of a computer. The role of the computer is basically organisational. There are a few bonus effects and features, but really the Seqtrak carries all the goods anywhere you want to go.
80's BOOMBOX collection. I love retro audio ;)

Yes I'm a child of the 80's. Decent technology was just starting to make its way into the home, and the boombox - to me at least - is an icon of the time!
Yamaha PSR-E383 15 minutes of some new styles
Переглядів 1,3 тис.14 днів тому
Yamaha have really re-worked the style content for this new generation. The old ones were getting a bit too familiar but suddenly they've almost vanished, giving the PSR-E383 a really fresh feel for 2024 :)
Yamaha PSR-E383 keyboard tutorial

This tutorial isn't a substitute for the manual, but it sure is nice to get the basics from a person rather than a book. If you have any other helpful suggestions, add them to the comments :)
YAMAHA PSR-E383 keyboard: New for 2024
Переглядів 3 тис.21 день тому
Yamaha continues its reputation for improving on every model in its respective series. Building further on the impressive PSR-E373, Yamaha brings additional sounds and beats, a more efficient control panel workflow and plenty more subtle improvements to the PSR-E383. Really proud to bring you the first review of this one!

Roland J6 Chord Synthesizer: On its own, and with MIDI
Переглядів 47728 днів тому
This little tool from Roland is a real song-builder. Its ability to set up chord progressions is an excellent speaker for composers who want to reach our for something new. In this video, though, I focus a bit closer on its more spontaneous application as a synth module.
Yamaha YSP-1400 Sound bar trialled with synthesizers as if it was a pair of studio monitors
Переглядів 343Місяць тому
"Why not try a soundbar with my synths in the studio?" I thought to myself. "In theory a soundbar with decent bass has everything you need, and the long flat shape might fit on the shelves a bit better." And if you don't need masses of volume, the Yamaha YSP-1400 might just tick all your boxes.
Roland T8 drum and bass sequencer: Old dog, new trips ;)
Переглядів 562Місяць тому
It's a time-honored formula but the T8 really takes linear drum and bass programming to a higher level than ever before in a unit of this size.

It has the same sounds as countless other Casio models, but it presents itself in a cheerful, nicely designed casing that will please owners for decades to come :)
Roland S1, the mini "Tweek Synthesizer"
Переглядів 450Місяць тому
They don't come much funner than the S1! This little synth, running for hours on its rechargeable battery, is designed for the most playful of musical experiences. You'll be bleeping and blooping like a playful electro-puppy all over a circuitboard meadow :]
Zoom MRS-1608 Multi Track Recorder
Переглядів 708Місяць тому
Physically, this is the largest of Zoom's series of multi-trackers, and the most advanced of the 00 decade. And it's still pretty good, not so much for its specs (which still hold up quite well) but more for its ease of use and good sense of fun.

Yamaha PSS-F30, the miniature Yamaha PSR ...with miniature attitude? I think not.
After 25 years I still have mine the only problem is a crazy screen 😢 ..
E un giocattolo. 😂😂😂😂😂
Costa troppo. Come tutte le entrate level.
I have Roland cube 60 guitar amplifier since 1985, I bought when I was working in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
Does it have a sampler? Great vid btw
Yes it does :)
Some really gnarly sound design on the PSR-530.
Yeah I was pretty stunned!
Hi, could you please tell me how to bounce tracks on micro br and br-80 ? it will be most apreciatte Thanks
The keys are like the psr e363 ?
Yes very similar
it really puts the liquid in liquid crystal. sad you cant just slap a megadrive cart in there and jam to green hill zone.
Sad indeed :(
Is it fine to put your guitar into the noise gate into a Boss Katana Artist? Trying to tone the hum down and the built in Noise gate is meh
Yes, should be fine.
Can I call up sounds via midi cc# ?
I doubt it but I suggest checking the online manual.
Love that keyboard. I still say its one of their best. But i have just one question. Can you store midi songs in this keyboard? That was my problem.
Without the display working, I have no way of knowing sorry. But the manual is still available online.
Yup... I owned this one too... Pretty good Keyboard for that time... Classic XG sounds... This one actually was very fun to use... I know some of the styles from this Keyboard are still used on Newer Models... Thank You for Sharing Bro!
And amazing speakers... think I forgot to mention that.
"well that is really frunky!"
Finally, a synth that I own. It's a great machine with an unusual cartridge expansion system.
Yeah I forgot to talk about the cartridge thing. Without the screen I guess it was pretty redundant though.
love my G2 and use it almost everyday and because of its small size i can take it everywhere!!! ❤
And its superb clarity :)
I had one , still sounds shit but I love it!
I hear you. Such a neat little thing. Can't hate it :)
OMG them high definition samples are cracking me up! 😅
Yes it's loW-fi with a capital LOW.
One thing that I hate from PSR E series is they don't have dedicated button for Variation B.
One thing that I hate from PSR E series is they don't have dedicated button for Variation B.
Agreed.
Here's a video suggesion, don't put video effects because the user can't see the video with those effects so please disable those
I was concerned the videos were too boring to look at, not much happens.
Wow! Sounds like crap!
It's good to be informed :)
I live in Reading, UK. I've had a DP32 for quite a few years but I find it difficult to learn via you tube or the manual. Anybody want to help, we could negotiate an hourly rate.....PS, please, not over Zoom.....face to face rather.
Better than a hamzer keyboard with those kid keys
Absolutely :)
Kawai in all it's wonderful weirdness, I wish there was some software to help program this thing and act as a librarian. The 'chorus' and 'top note' and to a lesser extent the 'vibrato' functions can really bring to life what otherwise can be a little lack lustre sounds, but pass that through some old multi effects units and it can be very interesting indeed.
Absolutely :)
i liike it.
Absolutely :)
horrible sonds
It's good to know what to expect!
Thanks for this tutorial, how to get sound metal and move numbers ?can you make tutorial please 🙏
Omg! LMAO ): 😂😂❤
Absolutely :)
For how imformal these Yamahas looked, they still sound great.
Absolutely :)
Tutte le tastiere arranger entrylevel costano troppo.
Talk all the shit yall want this still spunds better than a damn boss katana or a marshall
I'm actually with you on this one. Beautiful amp :)
The one i bought has a serious warning on it. Regarding adapter. I'm scared to even touch it. Can you please tell me how is it dangerous n lead to serious injury etc. Why is it written so? Help asap
Is it dangerous to use because of the materials it's made from? Do we have to use it in open air etc? Is it dangerous even when used with battery? N where to insert the battery? I did not get any battery with it. Please help.
It is completely safe.
Hi there how old is this keyboard? Thanks
Hi, about 15 years old.
Saya 2024 saya masih memakainya sejak Tahun 2001 .bagi saya sudah cukup buat bermain berkali saya buat untuk di atas panggung dan itu sangat ok tidak masalah
Just found your channel, thanks for sharing this. ..Im the 1000th like🎉🎉🎉
10000 likes??? Wow thanks for letting me know!
Use the Synth sounds 60-75 with a slowed down sequencer you can really get some great sounds and samples.
hi i saw one video they said new update of retrokit its not possible to do it , wts ur thoughts
I've never had the need to update mine so I don't know, sorry
Is this better than the boss dr 110?
My first guitar pedal. I’ve thought about rehousing it because it’s actually a decent overdrive. I find it’s almost a mix between a SD-1 and a Tube Screamer.
They used to sell them at ALDI.
@@gearfacts I use to go to Aldi just to see if they had any music stuff. I remember my Dad bought this pedal and I think a distortion (the one that was in a Ibanez Soundtank style enclosure) from Aldi about 15 years ago
I love this board, using it as my main keyboard along with a krome 88. The keybed on the motif is heaven imo!
Couldn't agree more!
Are you tiny or is the Seqtrak larger than I thought?
Well I’m smaller than average I guess…
tells me nothing
Ok, well two things - First of all, this may come as a shock but I don't actually owe you anything. And secondly, if you'd been polite I would have happily answered any questions.
how do I turn on the screen lights, please tell me that I can't
Try adjusting the Display Angle setting just to the lower right of the screen. If that doesn't work, check the system settings, there might be a display backlight option. Hopefully it isn't faulty.
@@gearfacts it doesn't, there is nothing behind the screen
Distorsion Sounds like 8000 farts at the same time lol
Well, yeah. I just couldn't get anything sounding right here... Used 100's of similar pedals, never had any problems, so....
Ive owned this same DP32SD since 2019. I use it exclusively for tracking all midi sequenced recordings with my MPC 2000 studio Plus, via SMPTE, and exclusively for tracking all vocals. Processing is done exclusively in the box, via Cockos Reaper. Best of both worlds.
Awesome. There's a lot of love out there for this machine.
Sounds surprisingly good
Yeah not bad for a cheapie
Far out..
Yep :)
In sample zone A, I'm finding that the pitch shifting is also affecting the tempo. Is this expected? I am aware that's a typical audio effect (as to shift the pitch up, you speed up the audio) but also that it's possible to process audio tones without affecting the tempo. I think I hear the same in your samples (ie 8 minute mark). Can anyone confirm? Is this possible to fix, as it really limits being able to use samples with a rhythm in a song. Thanks so much!
Yep it's normal and it can't be fixed. I wish it could!
